The 2025 MAMA Awards opened its first night in Hong Kong under a solemn atmosphere, honoring victims of the recent tragedy before any celebrations began. With Kai Tak Stadium filled with muted tones instead of fireworks and cheering cues, the ceremony focused on respect, reflection, and music’s healing power.
Actors, performers, and idol groups arrived in black outfits and mourning ribbons — including Stray Kids’ producing unit 3RACHA and aespa, who visibly chose attire symbolizing grief and solidarity with the victims.
Stray Kids Share Condolences on Stage
When Stray Kids took the stage for their Fans’ Choice Top 10 appearance, the members used their speech to acknowledge the tragedy directly. Speaking calmly and respectfully, they offered condolences to the victims, sympathy to families, and hopes for healing, emphasizing that “no celebration feels complete when so many are hurting.” Fans praised the group for their empathy and sincerity.
ENHYPEN emerged as one of the night’s biggest stars, securing the Fans’ Choice of the Year grand prize along with Favorite Global Artist and Fans’ Choice, completing a triple crown sweep.
The members grew emotional as they thanked ENGENE and reflected on their upcoming 5-year anniversary.
