Navigating the military era of a 13-member powerhouse group is a marathon, not a sprint. With SEVENTEEN’s 95, 96, and 97-liners currently navigating different stages of their mandatory service, keeping track of who is in uniform, who is packing their bags, and who is finally coming home can feel overwhelming.
Consider this your ultimate, up-to-date status tracker for SEVENTEEN’s enlistment era in 2026.
The "Welcome Back Soon" Club (95-Liners)
Jeonghan
- Enlistment Date: September 26, 2024
- Service Type: Public Service Worker
- Expected Discharge: June 25, 2026
- Status: Jeonghan was the first member to step away for his mandatory service. Because he is completing alternative service, his enlistment period is slightly longer at 21 months. The silver lining? He is the very first member scheduled to return, and CARATs can officially expect to welcome him back this summer.
Currently Serving (The 96-Liners)
2025 saw the staggered departure of the 96-line, a strategic move likely meant to minimize the group's overall downtime.
Wonwoo
- Enlistment Date: April 3, 2025
- Service Type: Public Service Worker
- Expected Discharge: Early January 2027
- Status: Wonwoo kicked off the 96-line's enlistments with a spring departure, taking on a public service role.
Woozi
- Enlistment Date: September 15, 2025
- Service Type: Active-Duty Soldier
- Expected Discharge: March 14, 2027
- Status: SEVENTEEN's vocal leader and resident genius producer enlisted as an active-duty soldier at the tail end of last summer.
Hoshi
- Enlistment Date: September 16, 2025
- Service Type: Active-Duty Soldier
- Expected Discharge: March 15, 2027
- Status: The group's performance leader officially entered the military exactly one day after Woozi, ensuring the two would share similar timelines and return to the studio almost simultaneously.
Awaiting Enlistment (The 97-Liners)
Mingyu & DK
- Status: With the 97-liners turning 29 this year, their draft notices are imminent. Both Mingyu and DK are fully expected to begin their mandatory service before the end of 2026. They are currently maximizing their time with fans through unit activities and scheduled appearances before PLEDIS announces their official dates.
Holding Down the Fort (The Maknae Line)
Seungkwan, Vernon & Dino
Status: The youngest members—Seungkwan (98), Vernon (98), and Dino (99)—still have a comfortable buffer before they are called to serve. For now, they are anchoring SEVENTEEN's ongoing projects. Many fans speculate that PLEDIS might eventually enlist this trio in a cluster to expedite the highly anticipated OT13 reunion.
The Exempt Line
For newer fans or those needing a quick refresher, four members of SEVENTEEN are exempt from mandatory military service in South Korea, allowing them to remain active throughout this transitional era:
- S.Coups: Exempted due to a severe ACL injury that required reconstructive surgery in 2023.
- Joshua: Exempt (U.S. Citizen).
- Jun: Exempt (Chinese Citizen).
- The8: Exempt (Chinese Citizen).
