MAMA 2025 Day 2 has officially begun in Hong Kong, and G-Dragon set the tone for the evening with a powerful combination of artistry, compassion, and sincerity. The global icon took home Best Dance Performance – Male Solo for his track “TOO BAD (Feat. Anderson .Paak),” delivering both a career-defining moment and a heartfelt tribute to the people of Hong Kong.
The second chapter of the 2025 MAMA Awards kicked off tonight at Kai Tak Stadium, hosted by actress Kim Hye-soo, with stages from aespa, G-Dragon, ILLIT, JO1, Kyoka from World of Street Woman Fighter, and TXT scheduled to light up the night. But it was G-Dragon’s appearance that struck a deeper chord across the venue.
As he stepped onstage to accept his award, G-Dragon first addressed the city’s recent tragedy, offering both condolences and encouragement.
“To everyone in Hong Kong who is feeling deep sadness right now… I prepared this performance hoping it could give even a little strength,” he said.
“I don’t know what words can truly comfort you, but I hope we can all stay strong together. I’ll continue working hard, and I accept this award as something given to me by my fans and VIP.”

His remarks follow his widely praised act of generosity earlier today: a 1 million Hong Kong dollar donation (approximately 2 billion KRW) to the Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, aimed at assisting recovery efforts and supporting residents affected by the recent apartment complex disaster.
Due to the ongoing situation, CJ ENM canceled the red-carpet ceremony and restructured the show to focus on “comfort and hope over spectacle.” Despite uncertainties earlier in the week about whether the event could proceed, the main ceremony is moving forward as planned and is being broadcast live through Mnet Plus and global digital platforms.
As Day 2 unfolds, G-Dragon’s opening message — empathy, resilience, and unity — has already become one of the defining moments of MAMA 2025.
