Stray Kids' Hyunjin and American singer-songwriter d4vd have officially released their duet “Always Love” — and it’s everything fans hoped for and more.
Out now on all streaming platforms, Always Love (featuring Hyunjin) delivers a wave of emotion, pairing d4vd’s melancholic signature sound with Hyunjin’s delicate, resonant vocals. The result? A genre-blurring ballad that’s equal parts R&B, dreamy pop, and pure poetry.
The story of Always Love began long before the track itself. Hyunjin first expressed his admiration for d4vd in a Teen Vogue interview last year, which caught the American artist’s attention.
d4vd later returned the gesture with a radio shoutout during a visit to Korea — sparking a musical chain reaction that fans followed closely.
“This was a true full circle moment,” d4vd said in a statement. “Hyunjin mentioned me in an interview last year, then I mentioned him on the radio… and it just kind of kept spiraling until ultimately we got to work together. He’s so talented, and I’m really excited with how the song turned out. I’d like to especially thank the Stray Kids fans for being so supportive and accepting of this collaboration.”
The emotional buildup was heightened when the two met backstage at Stray Kids’ SoFi Stadium show on June 3, where they snapped a selfie that later served as the official teaser image for the collab. That single photo sent social media into a frenzy — and now, the song has delivered on every bit of that anticipation.
From its dreamy opening, Always Love sways gently through psychedelic guitars and minimalist percussion. The song unravels like a love letter written in real time, moving through a lyrical progression of questions: “Do you feel what I feel? Would you let me go? Are you down for the ride?” culminating in a vulnerable declaration: “I don’t need nobody else but you.”
Hyunjin’s vocals weave seamlessly with d4vd’s, enhancing the emotional layering. His voice is soft but grounded, commanding yet tender — marking one of his most expressive performances outside Stray Kids to date.
This isn’t Hyunjin’s first time dipping into international waters — fans might recall his previous appearance on Troye Sivan’s Rush remix — but Always Love gives him the space to take full control of a duet, showcasing his solo strength and elevating his profile as a global collaborator.
A Song for Late Nights and Longing Hearts
Unlike the typical upbeat summer hits dominating playlists, Always Love is designed for quieter moments — the kind you spend watching the stars, missing someone from afar, or simply reflecting on what love means. It’s intimate, cinematic, and lingers long after the final note fades.
Behind the song’s sonic sophistication are producers Andrew Luce and LeeLee — known for their work with Lil Nas X, keshi, Jackson Wang, and more. Together with d4vd, they’ve created a track that feels deeply personal while still hitting all the right notes for universal resonance (and plenty of TikTok-ready aesthetic edits).
The release of Always Love follows d4vd’s debut album WITHERED and previews what may appear on its upcoming deluxe edition. He’ll continue touring with stops in Australia this December, including performances alongside Hannah Bahng — sister of Stray Kids’ Bang Chan.
Meanwhile, Hyunjin and Stray Kids are lighting up arenas across North America on their dominATE world tour, with Europe next on the itinerary. The group has also confirmed two albums for 2025 — and after a collab like Always Love, fans are wondering if more solo ventures might be on the horizon for Hyunjin.
For now, Always Love is a beautiful reminder that when admiration turns into art, magic happens. And for Hyunjin and d4vd — this is just the beginning.
