Overview

SHINee (Hangul: 샤이니) is a South Korean boy band formed by SM Entertainment in 2008. The group originally consisted of five members: Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. They debuted on May 25, 2008, with their first EP "Replay" and quickly became known for their synchronized choreography, distinct music style, and trendsetting fashion.

Over the years, SHINee has become one of the most successful and influential K-pop groups, known as the "Princes of K-pop." They have released numerous hit songs, including "Lucifer," "Ring Ding Dong," and "View," and have won numerous awards. SHINee is also recognized for their strong live performances and wide range of musical genres.

Tragically, member Jonghyun passed away in December 2017, but the group continues to honor his legacy while continuing their activities as a four-member group.

Members

Onew: Leader and main vocalist of SHINee, known for his powerful and emotive voice. Onew has also pursued solo activities and acted in various musicals and dramas.

Key: Sub-vocalist, rapper, and fashion icon of SHINee. Key is known for his versatility in music, acting, and fashion. He has also released solo music and appeared on various variety shows.

Minho: Main rapper and visual of SHINee. Minho is known for his athletic abilities and charismatic stage presence. He has also acted in numerous dramas and films.

Taemin: Youngest member (maknae) and main dancer of SHINee. Taemin is widely recognized for his exceptional dancing skills and has a successful solo career. He is also a member of the supergroup SuperM.

Jonghyun: (1989-2017) Main vocalist and songwriter of SHINee. Jonghyun was known for his unique voice, emotional depth, and contributions to SHINee's music. He was also a successful solo artist and is remembered as a beloved figure in K-pop.
