The second day of the 2025 MAMA Awards concluded with standout moments as Stray Kids and G-Dragon captured the night’s highest honors, while aespa secured a remarkable triple crown, proving their influence on the global K-pop stage.
The event took place at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium at 7:30 PM KST, amid a somber atmosphere following the tragic fire in the Wang Fuk Court residential complex in Hong Kong’s Tai Po district on November 26. In light of the incident, CJ ENM canceled the red carpet events, and the ceremony proceeded on a slightly smaller scale to show respect for the victims. Host Kim Hye-soo opened the evening wearing black, expressing heartfelt condolences and hope for healing through the power of music.
G-Dragon received the coveted Artist of the Year award. Presented by legendary Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat, who also led a moment of silence for the fire victims, G-Dragon celebrated a triple victory, adding Best Male Artist and Best Dance Performance – Male Solo to his accolades. In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to his fans, VIP, and shared excitement for his group’s 20th anniversary next year.
Stray Kids took home the Album of the Year award, marking a milestone for the group. In their emotional speech, the members reflected on their journey from trainees watching MAMA performances on TV to now standing on the stage as award winners. They thanked their fans and each other for the unwavering support that made this achievement possible.
Aespa continued their winning streak, earning three awards including Best Female Group, Best Dance Performance – Female Group, and Best Choreography. The group dedicated their wins to their fans, MY, and promised continued growth in the coming year.
In addition, the Netflix animated sensation K-pop Demon Hunters received the Music Visionary of the Year award, while its OST, Golden by Huntrix, earned Best OST. Other notable winners included ZeroBaseOne (Worldwide KCONers’ Choice), AllDay Project (Breakthrough Artist), JO1 (Favorite Asian Artist), TXT (Super Stage Artist), and H2H (Olive Young K-Beauty Artist).
