In a moment that is already resonating deeply across fandoms and social media, Baein of the K-pop boy group JUST B proudly came out during a recent concert in Los Angeles, becoming the first openly LGBTQ+ member of a Korean male idol group.

During JUST B’s ongoing world tour “JUST ODD,” held in L.A. on April 22, Baein addressed the audience with heartfelt sincerity, saying, “I’m proud to be part of the LGBTQ community.” The crowd responded with an overwhelming wave of cheers, with many fans audibly shouting “We love you!” in support.

While fans celebrated the emotional moment, the group’s label has chosen not to issue an official statement, referring to the matter as Baein’s private life.

Baein’s decision marks a significant milestone in the K-pop industry, which has seen a few idols speak openly about their identities in recent years, but none from male idol groups until now. Female idols such as former Wassup member Jiae and Cat’s Eye’s Lara have previously come forward as bisexual and gay, respectively — but Baein’s openness introduces a new chapter for representation among Korean male idols.

JUST B debuted in 2021 with their mini-album “JUST BURN” and quickly garnered attention for their intense performances and global ambitions. The group has since maintained a strong presence through multiple releases and international tours, and participated in Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE” as part of the team The Crew One.

Baein’s announcement has sparked widespread admiration and support from fans around the world, many of whom have taken to social media to express how meaningful and courageous his words were. For many, this moment is not just personal for Baein — it’s historic.
