Stray Kids' second Japanese album, GIANT, has achieved phenomenal success, topping major charts and setting records for K-pop groups in Japan. The album, featuring tracks like “NIGHT” and “Falling Up” (themes for the anime Tower of God) and “WHY?” (the drama Re: Revenge’s theme), showcases the group’s versatility across its 10 songs (with a bonus instrumental in the FC edition).

Billboard Japan: Hot Albums Champion

GIANT claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard Japan’s “Hot Albums” for the week of November 20, 2024. During its first week (November 11-17), the album sold 446,002 physical copies and recorded 2,500 downloads, landing at No. 3 in digital sales.

Stray Kids outpaced notable releases such as BTS Jin’s solo album Happy (223,938 physical copies) and J SOUL BROTHERS’ ECHOES of DUALITY.

Oricon: Record-breaking Performance

According to Oricon’s Weekly Combined Album Rankings, GIANT earned 341,285 points, marking Stray Kids’ fourth album to achieve this milestone. The album’s physical sales of 335,553 units propelled it to No. 1 in both Oricon’s weekly album and combined album rankings, securing a double crown.

This remarkable achievement makes GIANT the highest-selling Japanese album in its first week by a K-pop group in 2024.

A Historic Milestone

The success of GIANT cements Stray Kids’ dominance in Japan, reflecting their growing global influence. Fans eagerly anticipate how the album will continue to perform on international charts, while celebrating its powerful debut.
