G-DRAGON’s “POWER” Achieves Over 2 Million Streams in 24 Hours, Enters Melon Hall of Fame

G-DRAGON has once again demonstrated his star power with his latest digital single, POWER, which garnered over 2,196,100 streams within 24 hours of its release, securing his place in the prestigious Melon Hall of Fame. This milestone recognizes albums and singles that exceed 1 million streams in a day, adding POWER to a select group of high-achieving releases that meet the challenging criteria for this honor.

To qualify for the Melon Hall of Fame, albums or singles released after January 1, 2023, must surpass 1 million streams within 24 hours of their official release. Due to Melon’s streaming rules, achieving this feat is particularly challenging for single albums, which contain fewer tracks. Since the total streaming count of all songs on an album determines eligibility, single albums face a significant hurdle in reaching this milestone. With POWER, G-DRAGON has demonstrated that even with a streamlined release, his music can still command immense attention and loyalty from fans.

Artists whose albums are inducted into the Hall of Fame receive commemorative plaques, recognizing their work as a significant contribution to Korean music. However, when a song is released as a pre-release track and later included in an official album, only the streams accumulated after the album's release are counted toward the milestone, replacing any prior achievements. Notable examples include NewJeans’ "Super Shy," NCT DREAM’s "Broken Melodies," and V’s "Rainy Days" and "Love Me Again," which lost their initial streaming counts when the full albums Get Up, ISTJ, and Layover were officially released.

Fans are thrilled to see G-DRAGON stepping back into the spotlight, celebrating his return to public exposure and pouring out their love and support. This wave of admiration is no doubt providing G-DRAGON with renewed strength, and anticipation is high for his upcoming full album release. Fans are also eagerly awaiting his much-anticipated performance at the MAMA Awards in Japan, where he is expected to deliver yet another unforgettable stage.
