Jay, Former DAY6 Member, Expresses Regret Over Departure: "It Feels Like They're Erasing Me"

Jay, formerly of K-pop band DAY6, recently opened up about his feelings of regret following his 2021 departure from the group. Speaking on the Zach Sang Show, Jay, now known as eaJ, revealed that DAY6's latest album Forever made him feel "erased" from the band's history.
He clarified that his frustration wasn't directed at the members but at how his contributions seemed overlooked by the label.

“I spent my 20s there, writing songs, but it feels like they’re being erased,” he shared, while dismissing rumors of a possible return to DAY6. Jay emphasized his respect for the group, wishing them success despite the emotional challenges he’s faced since leaving.

The artist first rose to fame through his appearance on the first season of K-pop Star in 2011, which eventually led to him signing with JYP Entertainment. After several years as a trainee, he made his debut with DAY6 in 2015. Since leaving the group, Jay has pursued a solo career in the United States under the name eaJ, releasing music and engaging with his growing fanbase.

Fans are divided over his remarks, with some sympathizing and others feeling uncomfortable given the group's efforts after his exit.
