SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan has personally addressed a rumor that recently gained attention online, clarifying that a widely shared story about him treating fans at a restaurant is not true.
During a recent live broadcast with fans, Seungkwan explained that he had spent a long time deciding whether to speak about the issue. The rumor claimed that he had prepaid approximately ₩600,000 at a restaurant in Jeju Island, reportedly owned by an acquaintance, so visiting fans could receive complimentary drinks.
As the story spread across social media, some fans who visited the restaurant reported receiving beverages, leading many people to believe the account was genuine.
However, Seungkwan firmly denied ever making such an arrangement.

According to the singer, he has never prepaid money at the restaurant for fans. He also revealed that the situation has affected his personal relationships, saying he is no longer in contact with the acquaintance connected to the story because he could not accept fans potentially being misled.
Seungkwan emphasized that his comments were not intended to discourage fans from visiting the restaurant itself, explaining that people are free to support the business if they enjoy it. Instead, he said he wanted to correct misinformation and prevent false stories from continuing to circulate under his name.
The idol also warned fans to be cautious of anyone claiming to have a personal connection with him or promising benefits such as concert tickets. He urged fans not to trust individuals pretending to represent him and encouraged anyone who believes they have encountered impersonation or suspicious activity to report it through his agency's official contact channels.
Seungkwan added that while he appreciates meeting fans, they should not expect prepaid gifts or similar arrangements in the future simply because someone claims they came from him.
