The oddest show of the season kept on giving as the chaos — and comedy — only grew wilder with each guest. On August 18, “You Can’t Laugh at a Birthday Party” dropped a special episode titled “You Can’t Laugh at a G-DRAGON Birthday Party” on Yoo Byung-jae’s YouTube channel, and the result was a stream of priceless, meme-worthy moments.
Anticipation had been high ever since host Yoo Byung-jae teased the birthday event last month on social media. That hype quickly turned into record-breaking numbers — the video racked up more than 1.9 million views in just 14 hours after release.
Dressed in red-rimmed glasses, a striking blue shirt, and red pants, G-DRAGON embodied both star power and laid-back birthday charm. A colorful lineup of guests — comedian Kim Yong-myung, MMA fighter Choi Hong-man, makeup artist Risabae, world-renowned beatboxer Wing, and even Car, the Garden’s son Yoo I-jin — joined in, ensuring the “party” was anything but ordinary.

The program quickly descended into delightful weirdness. Yoo Byung-jae set the tone with a playful “Taeyang meme” introduction, quipping: “Hey everyone, isn’t my friend cool? My friend is really weird, right? Odd.” From there, the humor snowballed. Kim Yong-myung earned roars of laughter by fusing this summer’s viral line, “Stop talking nonsense and turn on the air conditioner!” with G-DRAGON’s hit “POWER.”
But the scene-stealer was undoubtedly little Yoo I-jin. With perfectly timed giggles and adorable reactions, she “hard-carried” the show, melting both G-DRAGON and viewers alike.
Even Saja Boys made a surprise appearance, turning the atmosphere upside down with their offbeat energy and quirky antics. Their sudden entrance sparked a fresh wave of laughter, adding to the unpredictability of the show and proving once again why the “no laughing” challenge never stood a chance.

What was supposed to be a challenge not to laugh turned into a highlight reel of G-DRAGON losing composure — and fans couldn’t get enough. Social media lit up with memes, cementing the episode as another viral win for Yoo Byung-jae’s unique comedy format.
