Shim Jaehyun, a former member of the boy group F.able, has passed away at the age of 23 following a private and prolonged battle with leukemia.
Multiple industry sources confirmed that Jaehyun died on June 30 due to a sudden and severe deterioration in his health. Although he had reportedly shown signs of recovery at one point, his condition worsened rapidly in recent weeks.
Born in 2002, Jaehyun made his debut in June 2020 as the youngest member of F.able, a group that captured attention with singles like Burn It Up, Run Run Run, and Cloud 9. The group engaged with fans both in Korea and abroad, even hosting a solo concert and fan meeting in Osaka in 2023.
However, later that year, the group quietly halted its activities. Members Junhyeong, Jeong, and Sihun went on to debut under the new group ENPHAZE, marking an unofficial end to F.able’s run.
Since then, Jaehyun had kept a low profile, and the news of his illness remained private — even those close to him were reportedly unaware of his condition. His quiet strength throughout his illness has left fans and fellow artists shocked and heartbroken at the sudden news.
The funeral was held in private, in accordance with the wishes of his family.
May he rest in peace.
