An attempted break-in at BTS member Jungkook’s home has sparked an official police investigation and a stern response from his agency, BigHit Music. The suspect, a woman in her 30s, was detained on June 11 after allegedly trying to enter Jungkook’s Yongsan District residence by repeatedly inputting a door passcode.
BigHit Music confirmed the incident and announced that they are actively cooperating with law enforcement, providing CCTV footage and other relevant evidence to support criminal charges against the suspect. The agency stated they are seeking the strongest possible legal consequences, expressing zero tolerance for actions that endanger their artists’ safety.
“This was a serious violation of privacy,” BigHit emphasized. “We are taking strict legal measures against this intruder and will not show leniency toward any form of stalking or harassment.”
The woman reportedly traveled to Korea specifically to see Jungkook, further raising concerns over obsessive fan behavior—commonly referred to as “sasaeng” activity in the K-pop industry.
In addition to this case, BigHit Music reiterated its broader efforts to protect BTS members from similar threats. The agency said it continues to file restraining orders and report stalkers to police in real time, to ensure immediate action can be taken.
The company also addressed ongoing online abuse and misinformation, pledging to intensify legal action against defamation, false rumors, harassment, and intellectual property violations. They revealed that several cases have already resulted in fines and punishments, thanks to fan reports and continuous monitoring of online platforms worldwide.
“This is a crucial time for BTS, as the members return after completing their military duties,” BigHit stated. “We ask fans to continue reporting harmful activity so that BTS can focus on their music and reconnect with their supporters in a safe environment.”
As the investigation continues, fans are rallying around Jungkook online, calling for stronger protections and expressing outrage at the intrusion.
