According to Billboard Japan and SoundScan Japan, the group’s third Japanese mini-album, “Hollow,” has already surpassed 619,245 copies in sales—before its official release date of June 18, 2025.

This achievement makes “Hollow” the highest first-day sales ever recorded by a Japanese album from any K-pop group, not just among fourth-generation artists, but across the entire K-pop spectrum. Stray Kids have now outpaced sales milestones previously set by K-pop giants like BTS and SEVENTEEN in the Japanese market.

Adding to the buzz, Oricon, Japan’s long-established chart authority, reported 435,363 estimated sales for “Hollow” as of its daily ranking update on June 17. This number reflects shipments to partnered retailers and is expected to rise when official release-day numbers are updated on June 18.

Oricon tracks sales only from select physical stores and excludes some major online retailers, while SoundScan Japan covers a much wider range of outlets, offering a more accurate and transparent picture of actual CD sales.
